the masterplan for the future of silverdale

Outline planning permission was granted in late 2006 and year-long reclamation works began in autumn 2007. In 2008 developers will be invited to submit proposals to build the new homes and create the formal recreation areas.

The regeneration of Silverdale Colliery is guided by a masterplan that was drawn up together with the local community in 2005 and 2006. This masterplan will continue to guide detailed plans as the project progresses.

Regeneration at silverdale

Progress to transform Silverdale Colliery is the result of several years of work by national regeneration agency English Partnerships, together with Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council, Staffordshire County Council and the local community. These partners are continuing to work together as the Silverdale New Vision regeneration project becomes a reality.

The masterplan can be viewed by clicking on the masterplan section of the website.
